ART + TECHNOLOGY FACILITIES
Art + Technology students are provided access to all the latest tools and technologies, software and hardware. In addition to the vast resources that can be found across the UF campus, we are committed to making sure you have what you need to fulfill your vision or explore new horizons. All facilities are accessible 24-7 to Art + Technology students. Most equipment can be checked out on a 24 hour basis.

FAC 306 Computer Lab
FAC 306 is a general purpose computer/teaching lab that delivers approximately 20 Apple iMacs with software such as Autodesk Maya, the full Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, Unity3D, Final Cut X, Max/MSP/Jitter, Processing, and more. This lab also includes scanners and an Epson p800 printer. We also provide a completely stocked Equipment Checkout facility we call the "cage." You can check out several types of still and video cameras, DVD players, video projectors, Mac Minis, 5.1 surround audio equipment, microphones of all types, lighting kits, video controllers, and more.

FAC 304 Electronics Lab
In addition to the FAC 306 computer lab, Art + Technology students have access to a fully outfitted electronics room in FAC 304. In this facility you will find professional quality soldering stations, various microcontrollers such as Arduinos, Lilypads, Raspberry Pi, and a complete complement of sensors and materials with which to work.

FAC 302 Professional Production Studio for Experimental Art Practice (PPS)
Our newest facility is the Professional Production Studio for Experimental Art Practice (PPS) in FAC 302. This facility includes 12 top-of-the-line new Mac Pros with 4K monitors and tons of RAM to run professional-level software such as Maya, V-Ray, Substance Painter, Nuke, Hiero, Modo and Mari packages, Syntheyes, and more. These machines are outfitted with all the software found in FAC 306 but also include high-end supporting tools such as the Renderman and V-Ray renderers and REDCINE-X for working with our RED DRAGON, RED RAVEN and the new RED KOMODO Digital Still & Motion Camera system. Of course, we support your film needs with a dolly, jib and crane, an assortment of lenses, professional lighting and other tools for learning to produce world-class cinematic experiences. These machines are networked to a shared, high-speed data system providing 48 Terabytes of storage and includes distributed rendering capability using Deadline. An intrinsic part of this workspace is the audio room. Inside you'll find a professional recording booth which integrates with our Pro Tools HD Native + HD Omni audio setup. The Mac Pro in this space is configured with the latest audio software, making it easy to import your FCPX projects and produce professional audio work. The room is acoustically treated and features a Genelec 8020 5.1 Surround speaker system. Of course, you'll need a place to show your work! A room we call the "Black Box" is where you will spend time having your work critiqued by faculty and fellow students. This space contains a surround audio system, Sony 4K video projector, and Mac Pro with 4K monitor.

Studios
Undergraduates have a shared studio adjacent to the PPS. You will have your own desk and card-swipe access to the space so you can secure your belongings. Graduates also have a secure space adjacent to the PPS that is generally used as office space. Additionally, graduates are provided studio space, off campus, at the Graduate Research for Art Development (GRADhaus) studios.

Art & Architecture Fabrication Laboratory
The A² Fab Lab is a digital fabrication lab with the tools to help you mediate between digital and physical design and creation processes. The technologies housed here include three laser cutters, three 3D printers, a 3D scanner and a 3-axis CNC router! For more info visit: http://www.arts.ufl.edu/aafablab/
